Yep. He finally got a little too cute. I saw both the Indoor SEC and Outdoor SEC live and he never let himself get boxed like that. He miscalculated this time and it cost him. Congrats to the Washington squad.
Midaway through the race I was like, "This might be the first time I've ever seen someone lose a race from being boxed." to me being boxed in is the most over talked thing ever.
However, I'm not sure that's why he lost. Id like to see a replay but don't think I can rewind it.
Fire Dwight Stones and hire Robert Griffin III as the lead right now.
Stones is the worst. He’s been an arrogant jerk since he got kicked off the UCLA team by the legendary Jim Bush for being such a prima donna. 50 years later he’s still trading off his faded looks and now, very faulty speech and memory “skills”. They must be paying him peanuts.
Reminds me of 06 d2 nationals 1500, it was like 215 at the half and the final time was like 410 or something pathetic. Slow tactical is so annoying, people want to see fast tactical, thats why its called a race. Not a jog and see who has the fastest 100m with a bunch of guys who struggle to run low 13s for 100m.
like lets imagine people jog the first 60 in the 100 just to see who has the fastest 30m. Or the 400, everyone goes out in 30 and lets see how fast they can do the last 200. Another huge reason track has zero popularity. Train all year to jog then sprint…..not going to excite people at all
Garcia Romo got careless ang got trapped lucky to get 2nd

Yeah, it was more like he gambled that it would open up but it didn't until it was too late for him to catch the winner. Maybe he doesn't catch him, regardless, but it looked to me like he just miscalculated. He could have come out earlier but he gambled that the box would open. It did and he was closing but he didn't go soon enough. So, maybe not boxed totally but being boxed was an issue that he mishandled.

Dude is only living off a nice voice and a long career at this point. He's the Larry Rawson of track and field, except Larry was actually a great guy, just easily confused.
