Why did you stop coaching distance runners and move into cycling and tris?
Do you think you could have developed more high level track athletes at the high school level or did you get lucky with the talent there at the time? Or probably a bit of both?
I recall doing track workouts during the summer way back when some of the Granda Hills guys would do the workout and have bikes set up on a stand on the grass on the track so they were stationary bikes and they rode their bikes as part of the workout. What was the reasoning for that and did you tell them to do that?
I also recall a story about (I think it was you) using a primative heart rate moniter on Alsen to try to determine the best way to run the Pierce Cross Country Course.
