Herald Sun has obvious slant. He was still sick with Covid. Usually the vax helps with long term symptoms. Getting booster was best odds action. Maybe he would be in even worse shape if he did not get the booster. We cannot know for sure.
Ok. So is his Nic Bideau also biased? I have read the article. Here is the money quote.
Athletics Australia Lead Coach Nic Bideau said McSweyn had been able to train strongly but his body wasn‘t responding when placed under race pressure.
“It‘s concerning and the doctor is telling us that it’s definitely linked to the vaccination in February,” Bideau said.
“He says there are quite a few athletes suffering from the same thing and there‘s no point racing until he’s right. When that is, we’re not sure now.”

So knowing the tangible, grave risks, why would an athlete/coach allow themselves to be “boosted?” This is a question for all competitive runners.
I don't fault anyone for blaming the booster – but these issues clearly result from COVID.
First of all, incorrect, and, secondly, that’s the biggest bunch of bull$hit you’ve written. You fault everyone and anyone for “blaming the booster.”
At a minimum, he took it way too close to the infection. But his coach and doctor are attributing his “long Covid” to the booster, and they are correct.

I do not know if Budeau is biased but most humans are, so there is that.
I will add that if McSweyn was from Kenya or Morocco he would be labeled a drug cheat by many here. His progression is suspicious as hell. About 6 months after he turned 19 he ran a personal nest of 14:34. Now he has run 7:28 and 13:05.
From his coach… “We think it’s down to COVID because this only started when he caught COVID (in January) but you never know.”
So, he had covid in January… his coach admits this is when breathing issues started…then he got the booster in Feb…
Case closed. Sorry anti-vaxxers.
Vaccination has been shown to help relieve long-term post-COVID symptoms in some cases. It's a shame McSweyn is still suffering from effects of COVID infection.
A good reminder that fatality rate is not the only stat that matters with a disease – get your vaccines and boosters to minimize risk.

INCORRECT.
(The world returns to it's axis as I get to downrate this nutball for his usual Fascinista corporate views, after having to uprate his rational responses to Putin bootlicker carmine9 on the Ukraine threads!)
A Covid booster shot has been identified as the reason behind Stewart McSweyn’s dramatic episode during a race this week. The Tokyo Olympic finalist was struggling to breath in a 5000m event at Box Hill on Tuesday night and was forced to stop with three laps remaining. McSweyn’s team quickly assumed the incident was related to Covid which he’d contracted in January but further examination has found it was a booster shot last month which has caused the issue. The Australian 1500m record holder has been diagnosed with periocarditus, which is inflammation around the heart and is a known side-effect of the Covid booster. McSweyn’s coach Nic Bideau said the alarming circumstances around what happened to the distance star was a warning to all athletes. “What the doctors have told me is that you really shouldn’t be having a booster so close after having Covid because it is just too much,” Bideau said. “It doesn’t serve as a vaccine then and it can make you sick again, which is what seems to have happened. It has got around his heart and obviously affected his breathing. He could certainly get through normal life without any issue but it’s only because we’re trying to make him compete against the best in the world that it has opened up.” McSweyn was getting the booster to ensure he could travel to next week’s world indoor championships in Belgrade, Serbia. That is obviously now off his agenda and he will see a cardiologist on Friday for further tests. “The first step is he sees his cardiologist for more blood tests and an ECG, which will tell us more,” Bideau said.
Feel bad for the guy. You think the US was psyopped? Australia was on a whole other level. Fortunately most Americans now have accepted what was done to them by their government, and the only ppl still lining up for boosters are Harambe and his Weekly Booster newsletter subscribers.

you deniers never give up do you? Incredible that Hundreds of thousands of Americans died of Covid and that's not enough to convince you that it was a serious pandemic. Just let it go, please!
