I think his state meet is that day.
I think his state meet is that day.
3:58.9
3:56.9
It’s supposed to rain starting Thursday Night until maybe Sunday. I’d say the times will be slower than what some are thinking. For Colin, I bet 50 dollars he goes over 3:55. 3:56 is what he may get.
And 13 mph winds. Not great for times.

You heard it here first.
3:57. perfect conditions (pacing, weather, tactics, etc.), maybe 3:55. but, to respond to a couple of points:
1) i don't think oregon has significant recruiting losses due to weather--they're perennial contenders on both men's and women's side (not to mentions several years of championships), and can compete with anyone this millennium in terms of producing olympians. needless to say, this pains me to admit this as a diehard bruin, which should enjoy more recruiting advantages than they do...
2) just because sahlman kicked in a 55 for a 3:39 does NOT mean he could run faster. he's a 1:48 800 guy, so if he really is a 3:35 dude, he would have shown it with a 53/54, which would be in their repertoire. had he kicked in a 52, then maybe you could speculate. 55 for a 3:57 miler is just not that fast, nor is it evidence of faulty pacing for most runners. i think what CAN allow him to run faster is a little more experience, which his 3:39 race experience will help him with.
that's my story and i'm sticking to it...
cush
Too bad Gary Martin wont be there to really see who is the top hs dog in the mile
Good weather: 3:54.77
Bad weather: 3:58.32
4:01.22. Lock it in.
3:50.98. Lock it in.
His first 1:48 was in March and his second was running in a windy slow night at Mt SAC where all the 1:47 guys ran 1:49, 1:50. He ran down the entire field of 1:47 guys in the last 100m and if there was more room on the track maybe coop.
He is a sub 3:54 guy , just needs a goods race to show it. Hope the conditions play out and she can show his stuff.
I'll stick to my story
:)
The race will prob be won in 3:50 high to 3:52.
Sahlman will be about 5 seconds back.
I predict 3:55 to 3:56
I don’t think we’ll see an Alan Webb type talent for a while.
3:53 at that age needs a big chip on a shoulder.
Who cares who the top dog in high school is? Peaked in high school isn’t something to strive for.
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
