I’m 14 years old, this is my second year of track and I’ve been training around 15 miles a week during track season on avg.
(17,33,13,6,0,22,12,26,18,10) I wasn’t very consistent at all with mileage due to dealing with shin splints most of the season. I recently got inserts and after about two weeks my shin splint problems have faded and can run pain free now.
Season Prs
400-53.74
800-2:04.04
1600-4:32.53
3200-9:58.35
The times I’ve ran shouldn’t even be achievable with how little I run, which leads me to believe that I have some pretty good genetics or something but I don’t know where those came from because neither of my mom didn’t even play sports in highschool and my dad played baseball and didn’t even graduate highschool.
Other random facts
Resting heart rate: 38-42
Vo2 max: I don’t really know how accurate some of these Vo2 max calculators are but I’ve gotten results anywhere from 72-78 mL/kg/min
5’10 (132lbs)
I wanna hear some of y’all’s opinions on how fast y’all think I could run, personally I believe I could run sub 4 in the mile by the time my highschool career is over if I can get on the right training and keep from getting injured. I plan on running 30-40 miles a week this summer and building a good aerobic base for this cross country season. I’ve made a 12 week training plan for this summer and it consists of lots of easy runs, tempos, hills, long runs, and short sprint work. I plan on being able to run in the mid to low 15s this year for xc (5k) and peaking around 50 miles a week for the year of 2022. My current highest mileage week ever is only 36. 80% of my runs from now on will be on grass.
