That's not really a good quote, it's actually pretty depressing. It doesn't mean anything, really. Just some guy saying he liked boozing it more than dedicating himself to his art. I don't know, you could go on about how soccer means nothing anyway, but I disagree with that. Any major sport brings a lot of entertainment to the averge John Q. Schmuck. I can't tell you how many times a meaningless game of football or race has taken me away from the daily BS and let me forget for a few minutes. What's life w/o entertainment? Also, there's something wonderful about seeing an athelete perform to their ability. Something about the rarity and beauty of it, it's just cool.
So he liked Effing hot chicks and drinking beer. Great. If that's all he wanted out of life. But why bother mentioning Pele if you're really so nonchalant about the game? He wants everyone to know he could have been great, he just chose not to. I don't know how that is the quote of the year. It brings a chukle the first time you read it, but when you think about it...I just hope the guy didn't die alone.
