It’s a nationwide movement. First, a “Mad Pooper” jogger struck in Colorado Springs in September. Then, No. 2 struck last month in Orchard Park, NY. Now it’s happening a turd time: a jogger has bee…
THIS is the shocking moment a jogger is seen pooing outside an off-licence after being caught short on her morning run. CCTV images show the blonde woman yanking down her leggings, squatting and re…
"Based on events unrelated to his service for Kenilworth, it has become clear to both Dr. Tramaglini and the Kenilworth Board of Education that his continued service as Superintendent of Schools has become too much of a distr...
Abraha used to be a local legend in the Atlanta running scene and still is to some extent. This article is from the AJC. I would have just posted the link, but you got to register and all, so here it is in full."Distant run...
They are lucky. The morning's freeze has given way, leaving thetemperature cool but bearable. Still, they stamp their feet, sprout goose bumps, giggle. What do
I don't see Oscar Pistorius or Samuel Wanjiru listed in this thread.
Pistorius was convicted.
There's a shroud of mystery surrounding Wanjiru. Did he really commit suicide, or did his wife have him murdered for his wealth? There are some interesting peculiarities with his tragic case.
I remember watching a crime show on A&E, probably 25+ years ago about a guy in Canada who seemed like a pretty fast distance runner and he would rape and potentially kill women on his running routes. I haven't had any luck finding this guy's story through Google.
Sadly and much more local to me was Sue Wen Stottmeister who was attacked and killed while on a run on a path that is very familiar to runners in my area:
Don’t think I’ve seen Tim Danielson mentioned. Second US high schooler to break 4 minutes in the mile, murdered his ex-wife and attempted suicide, but failed, and is now in prison for life.
I'm working on a project and researching true crime cases that involve runners. Whether that's people murdered while running, runners who committed crimes, runners who discovered dead bodies, etc. Know of any interesting cases? Do you personally have any stories?
Jeebus, why are you working on such a morbid project?

Sounds like Canadian career military officer and serial rapist and killer (and burglar, torturer, panty sniffer) Russell Williams. He used running as the means for scouting out victims and getting the lay of the land so to speak. Running at night gave Williams cover to track women's movements, figure out their patterns and routines, see which ones lived alone, and familiarize himself with their home security systems and precautions.
Thanks, it was way before Russell Williams' time (who I am familiar with thanks to Dateline) but that's a good one too. The guy I'm talking about was likely committing the assaults in the early to mid-90's, I believe in the Toronto area. I'm going to keep searching.
Alison May Campbell Parrott (September 28, 1974 – July 25, 1986) was an 11-year-old girl who was lured out of her home by a male phone caller in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Her remains were found two days later in a densely woo...

It's a surprise...
Thanks to everyone who has contributed so far. A lot of these I hadn't heard of.
The war vet who massacred 12 people in a California bar once shook with rage as he attacked a track coach at his high school, she recalled in a report. Dominique Colell told the Los Angeles Times t…
Look up the case of Amy Bechtel, a runner who disappeared in Wyoming back in the late '90's. For years her husband was the main suspect, but he had an alibi and after awhile he refused to answer any more questions. In the mid 2000's a new suspect became more likely, a man known to camp in the area where Amy disappeared, who was convicted of at least one murder and several sexual assaults.
After continued questioning, sources tell 9 News that Sean Vincent Gillis has confessed to yet another killing. Sources say Gillis has confessed to killing prostitute Lillian Gorham Robinson. This comes just hours after the J...
Former Riverdale cross country runner Eli Cramer, who ran for Milligan College, was killed Thursday night when he was struck by an automobile during a run near Williamsburg, Va.
