Is the 3:41 for Chelimo at altitude a solid performance for him in early May? I guess it raises no red flags, maybe even a positive result? He always looks to me like he’s got no chance until the championship races, and then he medals….

Yeah I wouldnt read anything into non-championship Paul Chelimo races. He should be considered the favorite at 5,000 untill Fisher or someone beats him at USAs.
It's fine to complain that "every big meet in the world is held in Eugene", but is it Eugene's fault that they have done everything to make Eugene the best place to host and watch a big meet? Why aren't other regions of the US taking up the challenge of creating facilities and environments remotely close to the same level as Eugene. Yes, we can say Penn puts on a great relay meet, but are they actually bidding for the big meets? Nope. Sacramento? Nope.
So tired of whiners like rojo complaining about Eugene and project other options that don't even compete/bid for the meets. Rather than complain about Eugene, how about complaining about other regions that don't put forth 1/2 the effort & $ that Eugene has?
For the first time EVER the US will host a World Champs because Eugene did the hard work to get it. 40 years of WCs and never in the US? Well, Eugene finally stepped up the game, got some serious $$ from Uncle Phil and now we have a site that is literally pro sports level quality. For the next 50 years Eugene will be a site that can host any meet besides the Olympics.
Aren’t you always whining about lack of head to head competition?
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
