What is a world class time? You are in a circular argument. If Tuohy never runs faster than 4:12, she will never be world class so why get wrapped up trying to claim that she beat a world class runner?

for the millionth time, i never said she beat a world class runner, i kept saying she beat pro runners, and ncaa champions, not world class runner ... the world class runner argument is a different argument inside here that i do not want to be part of because im not a fan of meyer, idc if shes world class or not, all i care is that shes a pro and tuohy beat her the same way she beat tuohy last year.
but its so funny how people like you are now saying tuohy will never be a world class runner, i remember when people like you all said she will never be a national caliber runner in the ncaa, and now that shes one of the top girls in the nation ... the phrase changed to a " she will never be world class" xemptyz its ok ... im used to trolls like you who always always always try to comfort themselves that katelyn tuohy will not surpass her limits nor progress+ but guess what, she continues to progress and no we arent making it bigger than it is, we are happy with any progress, little or big ... and we are happy that she beat pros and ncaa champs.... no we do not have big heads, its just you all are just triggered, threatened over what she could do that you make such big deal about small things ... the argument of whether meyer is a world class runner or not is far away from the initial topic of this thread... but you all seem so triggered.
Some people define world class as a medalist. Some define it as top 8. Some define it as top 100.
Yeah well I think a reasonable definition is anything from top 40 to top 60 to top 100... It just means you can compete with the best in the world... And clearly Meyers can do that
you were responding to me, so im responding back ,,, and i never said meyer was an american world class runner, whoever said that meyer is world class american runner.. go respond to them and not me ..
also let me just repeat what you just said
"If Tuohy never runs faster than 4:12, she will never be world class so why get wrapped up trying to claim that she beat a world class runner?"
this itself shows where you stand in this conversation
tuohy is 20, a sophomore or covid-freshman, has 3-4 years of college running left, finished 2nd in both her events in her first indoor championships (no one expected her to be that strong, no one knew she has 31s kick), she developed a strong kick in just 3 months, and now opened her outdooor season with a win, shes improving, having the best races, learning a lot ... theres a lot more to talk about as a college runner .. i could go on and on and i would never even want to talk about being world class, im in college, were not in the age to care more about being world class .. our idols are all in the ncaa .. if they graduate then we will care more about the world class scene
How many classes consist of three people or even eight people... That makes no sense! 20 people 50 people 100 people that's normal use of the word class!
Laurie Henes is Head Coach for Women’s Cross Country at NC State. Their team won the 2021 NCAA Cross Country title. This was the first women’s national cross...
The class which is world or Olympic medalists consists of 3. The class which consists of scorers consists of 8. Most posters would never go past about 40 when talking about world class. They consider it to be somebody who has a chance to make a final on the world stage. Is Andrew Hunter world class? Is Robert Brandt world class? Is Allie Buchalski world class? Is Katelyn Tuohy world class?
There’s a lot of talk on here that people are rooting against Katelyn. While I can’t speak for other posters I don’t think anyone in their right mind would root against a teenage girl. If Katelyn is able to keep progressing and get better and be competitive everyone should be happy for her. However, some worry about the message that it sends younger girls. Athletes like Katelyn and Marlee have both quoted some pretty crazy high school workouts. That might work for them and they may not suffer the consequences but unfortunately that’s not the case for many young girls. Being so fit at such a young age and training with such intensity puts you at risk for major health issues down the line that often prevent these same phenoms from having long careers. So it’s never rooting against the individual- it’s just exercising caution about the dangers and risks of pushing young girls too hard too soon. For many it ends with absolute agony and some with life long health issues. Perhaps Katelyn is unlike any other teenage girl and so this will work out for her. But we have to stop putting so many expectations on successful teenagers, we have to stop saying what they should be and will be capable of. We have to stop comparing them and glorifying their performances when they don’t look like healthy teens or even full grown women yet.
It's been windy here in N.C. the last few days. On Friday in Raleigh at the time of the 1500m, the wind was constant at 15 mph and gusting to over 20 mph, directly against the runners on the front stretch. That's why the race was tactical, and the times are not representative of what those runners can do.
All right Fair enough! You're right technically you can use the word class for any group... But I think 40 makes sense cuz like you said someone in the top 40 would have a realistic chance of making an Olympic final... So Myers is world class because she definitely has a realistic chance of making a Olympic final...
can you stash it on google drive and post the link? or use drop box?
I'm not that sophisticated unfortunately. Is there an easier way?
as long as you can connect your phone to a usb port on a computer or can go to google.com on your phone it is pretty simple.
1. Open Google Drive and ensure you're logged into your Google account. 2. Click the "+New" button on the left hand side and upload your video from your computer. If your video file is already uploaded to Google Drive, locate it in your Drive's file list. 3. Click on the video file once to highlight it. 4. Right-click on the file name to open a menu of options. 5. Click "Share."
