How do shot put limits work? I thought it was in if they didn't step on the block or out of the circle? Seemed like Awotunde was in from the NBC camera angles

Romani takes down Crouser!
The audio on Peacock said it's because his right foot went out at the end of the last spin, which was at a spot away from the camera location.
Exactly. It reminds me of 1993. Sorry but when you see three runners from a single nation dominate the competition its doping. We have seen this game before. Deal with it.
Jacobs won that for sure, why the delay?
I have officiated a lot of shot put competitions up to high school nationals and college conference championships. From the TV angle, it did not look like he hit the top of the board. I actually watched the slow-mo in slow-mo so it was extra slow and I did not see it. However, it looks like his right foot hit the very edge of the board and his toes may have gone out of the circle on the side of the board. It is impossible to see from the TV angle since it happens on the opposite side. The official who called the foul was on that side and called it right away.
Damn both Coleman and Jacobs got 6.41.
The delay was due to the Irish federation scheming to provide the incorrect flag to Jacobs. Fantastic.
Can't help but cheer for the former LJer Jakobs.
Shows up when it matters, takes down the WR holder and defending world champ. Coleman was not sticking around for photos w/ the flag--stormed to the tunnel.
What's with the weird robot voice on the commercial for outdoor champs in Eugene
From what I saw Coleman did stick around for several photos and congratulated Jacobs
It went the exact way that Noah Lyles told me that it could have gone.
My full exclusive interview with Noah, from Wednesday:
No, you only THINK you saw Jacobs win "for sure." The difference was only .003 and there is no way from that camera angle that anyone could tell who really won. You got fooled by the camera angle.
Jacobs did end up the winner, but not because of you being "sure."
Coleman looked on the verge of tears while having his photo taken draped in the flag. Haha. Hopefully Jacobs takes him down again in Eugene.
Classic sprint showdown! Coleman with a great start, Jacobs charging at the end. Wait for the result takes 10x the time that the race did. The drama was terrific. Can't wait for the rematch in Eugene
I was surprised by that. I would have thought that Coleman would be happy to even be allowed to be competing again after missing so many drug tests.
Did you see how quickly Jacobs was moving at the end? Coleman will have to step up his game if he is going to beat Jacobs at a distance longer than 60 meters.
I wonder how fast Jacobs was running. Maybe 27-27.3 mph?
No doubt. If they raced 100m right now, Coleman would lose by 0.1-0.2, he looked like he was clinging on over the last 10m by Jacobs was smooth.
I don't think Coleman was being a bad sport at the end, he stayed for some photos then got out of there. I think he's annoyed with himself, he should have that but he wasn't strong enough.
Can't wait for their showdown in Eugene

Kipsang certainly has a special place in your heart TL!
In my opinion Kipsang is wasting his energy. Can he recover until tomorrow evening?
There is no reason to think Kipsang can close the gap on 4 seconds (according to the world ranking) to Jakob.
I like the talent. He recovered fine off his 2k record attempt to race great 2 days later. The Olympic series of races also impressive. I don’t think running a hard first 300 and last 200 takes that much out of a 3:29 guy. The times are pretty irrelevant. Jakob is a strong favorite but I think Kipsang is in 3:31 shape and he’s clearly got several gears.
