Did I mention the Obama/Biden administration was instrumental in overthrowing Ukraine's government in 2014?
I suspect the US wouldn't be thrilled if China overthrew Mexico's government and installed a pro-China regime in its place.
You don't have to agree morally with another country's actions to admit they are behaving rationally from their own perspective.
you are moving the goalposts.
anyway, I'm done for the day.
Nope the goalposts are right where they've been the whole time.
Putin didn't wake up one day and decide to invade. Things led up to it. Those things are all relevant. It doesn't matter if they're relevant to you it matters if they're relevant to Russia. Putin has said they were relevant for 18 years.
#UkraineRussiaWar: The Russian Army is now visually confirmed to have lost at least 1500 vehicles and other pieces of (heavy) military equipment since it began its invasion of Ukraine on the 24th of February.
another reminder that wigins is so naive that he believes russian propaganda.
remember when he swore russia would never never never invade Ukraine? His reasoning? because Russia *said* they wouldn't invade Ukraine.
What BW actually wrote didn't seem that farfetched, but, as it comes from Mr "2600 cases of coronavirus", well, ...
Well, obviously he is buying into the Nazi propaganda, that nobody who has been to Ukraine buys, but he is also buying into the "Putin is just afraid of NATO".
That doesn't seem that farfetched, although, obviously a bit naive.
Insane incompetence. They've lost this much stuff while doing basically nothing AND the UKR army is about to get a lot more firepower.
Sending a bunch of conscripts to battle in rusting jalopies. That is not the best of plans. Putin seemed to think that equipment maintenance, and troop training were optional.
I'm a bit interested to see how this affects the US Republican Party, as there seems to start being more split between the the Trump & Putin populist branch versus the conservative & traditional branch.

A war and a humanitarian crisis is happening in another country and you're only interested in how it maps onto your domestic political neuroses. Nice.

There's several wars happening and you only care about the one you're told to care about.

There really isn't a significant split. This board is deceiving because of the strange number of misguided zealots, Russian trolls and sock puppets. 90% of Republicans and conservatives are strongly against Russia and Putin, and support America, its Allies and the Ukraine.
Maybe he just wanted to get rid of his old equipment and most incompetent kids so felt he might as well use them and get a little something out of them rather than do nothing with them.

Why are we not hearing anything from these 90% of republican lawmakers? Are they still fearful of a mean tweet from Trump?

You live in an echo chamber. You don't hear anything from any Republican unless it's a negative story.
Congress passes a pork infested $1.5 trillion budget bill which happens to include an aid package for Ukraine. Any Republican who votes against a TRILLION in pork is reported as "pro Putin" because $13.6 billion of the $1.5 TRILLION was earmarked for Ukraine.
