Men's preview is out. Will Kipchoge continue being Kipchoge or will Father Time start to show why he's undefeated.

Forecast is mostly good, just windy. Temps good, upper 40s to low 50s, sunny, but winds of 13 miles per hour, gusting up to 30 mph out of WNW. Not sure of course profile so curious as to how much of race may have a headwind.
Get onboard Masaki Sukuda for the top Japanese runner.
Oh yikes that’s gonna make a difference. 30 mph gusts are not quite what you want.
desperately hoping this is not the case
I’ll be watching it live on TV
Let’s have a poll on how old LR posters think Kipchoge really is. His stated age is 37. Which means he won 5000 WC gold over Bekele and El G at the age of 18. That is pretty young.
I think he's really 37, why would I think otherwise?
Kenny had already run a 10k and 5k heat, ElG three 1500's and 5k heat , EK one 5k heat. Kenny had just turned 21, EK nearly 19, so no surprises EK won.

I'm inviting some girls over for the livestream. I've got some PBRs ready. It's going to be a wild night, I guarantee you.
The upcoming race is the 2021 Tokyo Marathon and the organizers have cancelled the 2022 Tokyo Marathon ?
Is that correct ?
Kipchoge will win Rojo. I just know it!!! :)
Another one on Flotrack? Might be time for me to cancel my sports package that gives me the Olympic Channel. Was hoping the Tokyo 'thon might be on there.
How do the plethora of 2:08/2:09 (they had 42 runners under 2:10 in ONE race!) Japanese marathoners make a living? (Am assuming all the 2:07 and under guys must have some type of sponsorship).
Usually on the payroll of the corporation that sponsors the team they're on.
I'll turn it on for the last 20 minutes or so, but don't expect Kipchoge to even start. That wind? Nope.
Does anyone have any info on the paces being asked for? I can't see Eliud asking for anything slower than 62:00, as to not have Kipsang's CR 2:03:58 in his sights would be tantamount to admitting weakness and a probable defeat.
On the other hand, I don't expect anything under 61:30, as a that point it looks close to a (world) record attempt, and that would be quite unexpected. So this leaves a probable range of 61:30-62:00 for the first half, which is increasingly the required tone for ultra competitive, fast marathons, a tone pioneered in no small part by Kipchoge himself.
But perhaps a murky weather forecast will call for a more subdued opening. I'm anxious to hear what the plan is.
On another note, I look forward to seeing if Jonathan Korir can continue his great improvement. Kitata I don't expect to be a huge factor unless the race is on the slower side and/or bad weather conditions intervene.
In other words you are spending the evening with your right hand.
I'm sure you have a six figure salary and a luxury yacht, too. After all this is letsrun.
