12,000+ cases in New Zealand today (and no signs of slowing down). This is close to record daily cases in the US on a per capita basis and it does not appear to be peaking. Given the low level of previous immunity, this may spell disaster for a New Zealand hospital system that is woefully unprepared.

77% of its population is fully vaccinated, and 45% boosted. Its peak hospitalization and death rate from this surge will be fractions of what the US experienced, and of course, the antivaxxers, especially those with little or no immunity, will disproportionately constitute the hospitalizations and deaths that do happen.

The 23% that aren’t vaxxed are young (94% of the over 12 population is vaxxed). Most of the dying will be vaxxed, because the demographics that die are old. The explosive growth, however, is further evidence that vaccines provide no protection against infection. The quarantine and isolation mandates are pretty much pointless at this stage.
Estimates for Omicron severity put it ~30-50% of Delta. It still managed to kill ~150k antivaxxers in the US. Make of that what you will.
The majority of the 150k that died during the Omicron surge were likely vaccinated.
For December it was running about 2 to 1 unvaccinated to vaccinated according to available data and in spite of fairly high vaccination rates among the most vulnerable groups.
That may have got closer as omicron fully replaced delta in January-February, but deaths are disproportionately unvaccinated persons.

What part of the US has the inability to track breakthrough infections don’t you understand? Poor data tracking is the sole reason the US data looks so different than data in the UK and Canada.
New Zealand up over 15,000 cases per day (equivalent to over a million cases per day in the US) and climbing. 88% of vaccine eligible aged hospitalizations are vaccinated individuals (12% are unvaccinated). Deaths probably won't start hitting the stats until the latter part of this week. Hong Kong is fairing even worse. Their death rate is high and growing and their cases are still growing (which means their death rate will continue to climb for at least three more weeks, and it is already high). Omicron is getting past all barriers.
