I find it completely implausible that a top runner, in the midst of a training program for the upcoming Olympic games, would eat a burrito from an unreliable fast food source immediately after training.
I think that says more about your attitudes towards food than a realistic assessment of what is normal or not.
I agree and add I have never known an athlete who was likely to be tested make an allowances for such in their eating habits.
Have you seen water bottles passed round at the breaks in play when there would be a big chance of being tested.
When the top US female 800m runner narrowly dodged a ban from tainted meat earlier that year, do you think Shelby (USA teammate and rival) and her coach (world’s highest paid running coach backed by Nike) heard about it?
According to WADA the only activity related to her sport she’s allowed to participate in is education. Also, she is not allowed to be paid for anything related to her sport.
She is going to get her ban extended if she is not careful.
Also, there are many track meets and major marathons that don’t invite athletes with drug convictions, even after the ban is served.
think they heard about this guy and planned accordingly as highly-paid professional athletes and coaches?
The Court of Arbitration for Sport has exonerated American long jumper and sprinter Jarrion Lawson, who's been unable to compete for 19 months after eating what he maintained was contaminated meat.
Hi let’s run dot come powers that be, you don’t have to put a drug cheats alleged time trial on your front page. there is other news in the running world.

Between this interview and the fact that Houlihan made her Strava activities private a few days ago, it's glaringly obvious that BTC think that the rules don't apply to them.
Indeed. Sadly, they are correct.
Cases in point:
1) Her provisional suspension (kept secret against AIU policy without explanation) counts towards the four years, although she continued practicing with the team during that time.
2) She openly copied BTC workouts during her ban, right after they were done, on the same courses, without even trying to hide it, and without any consequences whatsoever.
AIU/WA should show some backbone, and start her four year ban all over now.
“Status during ineligibility is such that no athlete or support personnel may participate in competition or activity other than education programmes whilst ineligible. While ineligible, the athlete is not entitled to any payment by virtue of appearance and/or performance. If he or she receives any payment contrary to this rule the athlete shall not be entitled to return to competition until it has been repaid.”
World Athletics
The only activity related to the sport she can participate in is “educational programs” and she cannot receive any payment related to the sport.
So does her ban only apply to USATF sanctioned events? Or would she be in trouble if she ran a local road race that isn't sanctioned by the USATF?
I dont know, but these 3 or 4 yr bans seem like forever but they are not. Didnt the last winter olympics seem like yesterday? She is pretty young. Its not rocket science.
Her 4-year ban covers the 2 Olympics where she would have been in her prime so it might as well be forever. When the ban ends she will no longer be world class on the track and the marathon might not be a good distance for her.
She can post whatever she wants, but training hard over the next 3 years to run TTs that don’t count will be a miserable experience. Sports are about competition and she is not allowed to compete.
Thats just for olympics, she could run marathon majors until blue in the face. But yes she is screwed in the olympics for MD.

Wouldn't she be banned from marathon majors since they are sanctioned by USATF?
She and her coach are stepping into the grey area of her sanctions by doing this and she is at risk of getting her ban extended.
They are basically following the same pattern of behavior that led to her ban, i.e. believing the rules don’t apply to them.
She could simply be using old training logs. She has been in the bowerman system for a long time and knows how to train. I still have training logs from my college coach and even highschool training.

I think she has had all this checked with USADA as it is so in your face to risk a further ban.
There is nothing to stop her joining training runs that are not organised by an official body.
Comments on Houlihan at 3:35. Between this interview and the fact that Houlihan made her Strava activities private a few days ago, it's glaringly obvious that BTC think that the rules don't apply to them. If the positive test didn't convince you of the group's arrogance, their behavior every step along the way in this sanction after the fact should seal the deal. The type of arrogance on display that leads to an athlete doping in the first place.
Man, what a disappointment by Bowerman Track Club. The team should be shut down.
These are pretty murky waters for Schumacher and Flanagan to be swimming in. Coaching a banned athlete sends a terrible message (we don't care if she doped!) and may well be outside of the rules. Like I said, she should keep training until all her appeals are exhausted, including the 1 in a million Swiss court appeal, but Schumacher needs to keep her at arm's length for now as it's tainting the group by association.

No, its based on reading about how careful some elite athletes are about what they eat and using trusted sources of food, reading the ingredients, etc..
I think you're swayed by an acceptance of unhealthy easting and fast food.
