So during the regular season, many of the NFL players were tested positive for Covid that resulted in delay games, scheduled changed, missing players... Suddenly the playoffs started and everybody was okay and didn't worry about Covid. Pretty convenient!
They actually changed the regulations regarding testing in the playoffs. They tested everyone during the season every week but for the playoffs they only tested players "who reported symptoms." Business comes first but the reason they had strict covid measures during the season was to not lose fake woke fans. Again, it all revolves around business and public relations is pivotal. They don't actually care about covid but they know they have to pretend to care so they don't turn off customers. Same with many businesses and individuals in the business spectre.

How many NFL ers (technically most are overweight or obese based on doctor used BMI)? Yet zero covid deaths of nfl players. Zero active pro athlete covid deaths (but some suspicious vaccine induced deaths and cardiac events). By now most people know this is not much different than the flu. The media is extremely powerful and plays on the gullibility of human nature.
The pro sports leagues are highly attuned to how factors outside their sport affect the perception of their sport, and therefore, their business. Covid policies are viewed as one more situation, like national anthem protests. The PR flacks make their recommendations to the owners and the owners do what it takes to protect their profits.
