just curious..this is my 3rd year doing the three: XC, indoor, outdoor (11th grade, 12th, freshman yr college).
in 9th grade I did XC but then swimming & baseball. 10th grade I did XC, swimming, and outdoor.
I kinda dislike indoor and I wonder if swimming instead during winter (which is great for lungs/endurance) would actually be more beneficial and give me a break and decrease my risk of injury. obviously I can't really do this (first of all I'm not good enough to swim at collegiate level and idk how my coach would feel if I swam on my own instead of did indoor). Does anyone else wish they could skip indoor or am I the only one lol? I also would prefer to peak sometime during the outdoor season (like I know there will be a break in between seasons...). Has anyone experienced any benefits by doing a different sport, say, during the winter, or do you find it harder to get back into running shape? (prolly depends on what the sport is).
