We just got hit with a lot of snow. The area indoor tracks are closed, and I don't have many (any) good options for outdoor running. Does anyone snowshoe when conditions are not favorable for outdoor running? If so, do you snowshoe the same time/distance/workout that you would run, or do you modify the snowshoe workouts?
I am considering doing my planned time-based over/under interval workout in snowshoes and using heartrate as my metric. Any thoughts on whether this is a ill conceived idea? I have some limited experience in "running" snowshoes. I do not have any knowledge of how the sport converts to running, or if the training principles are any different.
