Day 5 currently. Although I probably had very mild systems for a few days before but they weren't consistent. Had a slightly "phlegmy" chest on and off for 3 days but just about noticeable and not enough to worry about doing an easy 10k on Friday and a park run on Saturday where it felt a lot harder than it should considering I wasn't going flat out.
Anyway Sun/Mon felt like a cold but Monday evening I started to get the fever, aches, excessive coughing and that I just feel rubbish feeling. Hardly slept and was wrecked all day Tuesday. Positive test confirmed.
Tuesday night was the worst so far. Lucid dreams aches, fever, chills more coughing just absolutely wrecked. Wierd thing was I started to feel pain in places I had injured previously.
Fever broke Wednesday and then the sore throat and congestion started. Also wierd stomach cramps, blocked ears, very high resting heart rate, general illness feelings continued.
It's Friday night and no real change although it comes in waves where I can feel better for a bit but then go backwards, probably once the pain killers where off.
One of the worst sore throats I've ever had for the last 3 days. It's Painful to eat and even talk sometimes. Been smashing the ibuprofen and paracetamol. The worst bit is having a blocked nose then having to breathe through your mouth which makes the sore throat worse. Can't get any quality sleep cause of this.
As for family, kids are fine. 8yr old had a fever for like 3 hours one night and no other symptons. 10yr old has a persistent cough that disappeared after about 4 days. Wife is a few days behind and feels sht but nowhere near as many symptons as me. Body aches and fatigue mainly.
As far as how this compares to other illnesses I'll rate it just behind the flu which I had in 2014 and kicked my ass for 3 weeks before developing pneumonia. This does feel a little different with a much wider range of symptons. I felt like flu attacked my lungs while while has attacked everything. Flu was a monster though. The back pain was ridiculous.
Worst I've been though is when I had a wisdom tooth out and the gum got infected the exposed nerve and infection which travelled down my neck giving me lockjaw. Was horrifically painful. Spent 4 days going to hospital to get that infection clear but that pain was next level.
Not keen for a vaccine debate, bored of it, but as people are sharing, I'm double vaxxed, wife triple, each kid has had 1 jab.
