He has a brilliant happifying smile, but look at him right after his epic epic Sydney’00 sprint finish beating Tergat. He looks sad likely because he was hurting. Had read somewhere that he won that race with an Achilles injury. But he does seem to have a resting happy face.

I used to love seeing him on the starting line of a big track race in Europe in the summer, standing along with 10 or so Kenyans (and Morocans, and....) dying to beat him, and he's got a HUGE smile on his face. He really did look very happy. You see quick smiles for the cameras in those situations, but apparent carefree happiness is much more rare !!
