Believe her.
Essential oils are a key to relaxation in a hectic world.
She's not drinking them nor cooking with them...
The aromatic effects are unbelievable.
Different oils pique different awareness or passivity
Let her have this...the marriage will be stronger.
Depends on what you mean by scam. They actually give you essential oils, so you get what you ordered. It’s a waste of money, of course, but so are a lot of other hobbies. On the bright side, a diffuser, though annoying, is less likely to burn your house down than a scented candle.
Scam. I've tried them.

Essential oils are not usually in candle form!
Sorry Alphas...as much as you want to barge in..I've been into candles, candle scapes, incense, essential oils and different burners or forms..
Let the 25 year expert handle this and stop HECTORING.
Thanks.
Not as much of a scam as crypto assets and NFTs
a big pyramid scam. There was a show as party of a series on Netflix that told all about it. Series is called [UN] well it is episode 1
She's probably on the level. On that commonplace behavior anyway.
Tell her that this is the only oil that's essential.
100% scam. If she thinks it works who cares, it's just money.
You will not die if you do not smell these oils; therefore, they are not essential.
This falls into the same category as healing crystals and ion generators from salt lamps.
"Essential" oils smell nice, crystals and ion generating salt lamps look cool. Enjoy them for what they actually are.

Individual anecdotes are not evidence that something g works or not. Be better.
Doesn't matter. Have to remember happy wife happy life
Essential oils have many properties: bactericidal, antiviral, antibacterial, analgesic, tonic, and immunomodulatory. They help soothe and sleep, improve mood and treat skin conditions. Buy oils only from specialized outlets. They should be sold in dark glass vessels with a dispenser. Choose a pure product derived from organic raw materials; the manufacturer should state this on the package. Remember that essential oils cannot be cheap.
My ex girlfriend wanted me to rub essential oils on my (excruciating) plantar fasciitis. I would roll my eyes and shake my head no. She would get upset that I'm not open minded.

Great post. I'd add that a carrier oil should be used as some oils can hurt skin if applied directly to it (especially eucalyptus). Carrier oils include jojoba, sweet almond, and coconut.
Mostly scam, yes.
To each his own.. I know a true second hand story of a man who chose essential oils and death over chemo because of wife's beliefs in the health benefits of essential oils.
Lemme guess, you're in some suburban neighborhood and your wife is learning about essential oils from a trusted friend who just happens to have a garage-full of essential oils from doterra, a multilevel marketing company, which is actually a pyramid scheme.
You'll either be spending hundreds on stupid placebo essential oils that make your house smell bad. Or you'll eventually be spending thousands to create an inventory of product that you'll never be able to sell.

I mean, they're essential, how is that even a question?
