Dude, his post is probably the last thing you should worry about when considering “making the community a better place”. Your “community” has been in digression in terms of quality for years. Much of it encouraged by you directly or indirectly by your mods. It’s not uncommon to see over 50% of threads on the front page that have nothing to do whatsoever with running. The running threads all turn into drug accusations or some argument about politics. At that, misinformation and bad advice is rampant.

Would definitely not recommend your website forum to a new runner.

I disagree with this sentiment. I think it's way lamer to not announce you're going for the record, because you only wouldn't announce it if you didn't think you had a good shot at it, or if you weren't planning on getting the AR to begin with. Having the confidence to announce you're going for a record, and letting everyone know that that's your goal, is way cooler than being afraid to tell anyone in case you don't get it.
