Dear Safety Man: just because you don't like something, doesn't make it automatically false. I've placed in the money several times at MRR and I can assure you that if you're *not* in the accepted elite field, you are not eligible for the prize purse. Period.

Why this trend started a few years ago I don’t know. But it’s büllshït. The girl from NY that was denied prize money at Boston 2018 because she wasn’t in the elite field is a prime example.
You're full of sh!t as there are more prizes (top 25 men and women) than there are elites, and that's before you count the ~100 age group and other awards. And it says nothing about prizes only being for elites, just that top places are based on gun time.
