The best runner on the planet, because running mountain ridges and high altitude races is much more impressing than fast road times, is a Salomon athlete. Good for him.

Has JOsh cox ever signed an athlete to Nike? Or any other real brand?
Hall was with Asics before JC was an agent
DD was with Brooks before JC.
Hoka sponsored NAZ without JC.
Am I missing any money makers?

And that, along with $2.35 will get you a coffee at Dunkin. I can do more push-ups than him. Literally equally as beneficial in the real world.

Good for him. I still don't understand why Saucony let him go.

Has Saucony signed anyone at all in the last year? They let Droddy go after going 9th on the US list, and they couldn't give Seidel an attractive enough deal. Ben True also wasn't renewed. It looks to me like they are slimming down their pro list

They aren’t paying because it isn’t their responsibility to fund elite distance running. The average consumer doesn’t care or even know who he is. He’s just some unkept homeless guy with new shoes. These contracts are minuscule and heavily gear and performance based. He will be on here with his loser wife crying poverty once again.
I'm really happy for Droddy. He ran a great time in December. I appreciate his openness and honesty.
I think it's fantastic that the guy has a full time job, and is still pursuing elite level running. His story is a lot more interesting and relatable than the elites that train and nap everyday, race a few times a year, and turn out largely underwhelming performances.

Agreed. The sport needs to go back to it's amateur days. Ban prize and sponsorship money from the sport; get the goverments to enforce this if the sport's governing bodies do not comply. The doping African problem will disappear overnight. We need more guys like Droddy and Kawauchi to make the sport great again.

Don't forget Ben True. Or dropping the ball with Molly Seidel. Saucony made some oopsies in 2021.
After listening to a podcast with Droddy it sounded like the person at Saucony in charge of elite sponsorships had changed and their marketing shifted from performance based athletes to athletes who fit their "mold" of heavy social media present, influencer type athletes. Not sure if that is true but in today's world influencers and youtube runners sell more shoes to the masses than pros with fast times and no social media presence.

Both Parky Stinson and Laura Thweatt retained their sponsorship deals with Saucony

Droddy looks like a homeless guy who stole a new pair of shoes. It's been said a billion times.
Get rid of the 60s hair and the hipster mustache, race everything everywhere, and the fortunes will increase. Or fail to play the game, and stay where you're at.
