Plus he doesn't have the professional training I have as a musician.
I find it highly unlikely anyone would believe him to be the better musician except in very rare circumstances.
Professional training doesn't mean anything. Either your music sounds better than his or it doesn't. Looks like the consensus is that you aren't as good.
consensus would imply many people agreed with you, and they don't.
Listen, you guys can believe whatever you want. This is a stupid silly argument and a stupid thread.
I felt I had sub 3 hour marathon ability. Some people didn't agree. Ok, we can agree to disagree. Fact is, my PRs point to a marathon under 3 hours. Others with similar PRs to me have run in the high 2:30s to mid 2:40s. Some slower.
So for you guys to tell me I can't break 3 hours isn't realistic when my PRs indicate I can.
Second, Flagpole apparently is a musician who plays in bands. He doesn't play as a soloist like I have. Big difference.
At my peak as a pianist I was playing advanced piano pieces, as exemplified in my recording of Beethoven's Tempest piano Sonata. I also played pop music and other styles. I played primarily as a soloist.
I did 2 cruise line contracts as a pianist. I was paid $750/week at one point to play twice weekly at a casino. That was my best paying gig in my career. I had a contract to do that for 4 months. I started at $600/week the first month and they bumped me up to $750/week soon thereafter.
I've played in many hotels and some small festivals.
I don't care about random critique from random posters on the internet about my musicianship when I'm not even playing these days anymore.
I feel I accomplished a great deal in my career as a musician. If someone who plays in bands like Flagpole wants to believe they are superior, that's fine, but I know what I've gone through and the level I achieved as a musician. Flagpole has a huge ego and wants to discount the years of serious classical training (not to mention music theory) that I have.
He dismisses it because it's a huge load of work he never did.
