Really strong fields -- no previews & no recaps from LRC, the website that focuses on running.
But more importantly, where's the official thread where we can post about the marathon?

Only 8 persons ran faster than 2:05 this year, and today between Paris and Amsterdam there were 10 such men. Wow!
There were more than 8 before and 18 after. World Athletics having a glitch with their top list. No London finishers included. I should hear back from them later today.

17th place was 2:07:56!! Only 5 Americans have run that time or faster all time.
We need to start sending some Americans there. isn't that where Leonard Korir ran his 2:07 or 2:08 or whatever he ran in his debut marathon? If more Americans ran there instead of New York and other harder American courses we'd have more fast PRs.

Too harsh? Not on American soil.
I mean I don't claim to be an authority in the running world & feel like I could have given a good preview/recap of this race. If their goal is to cover the running world & hype us up about events, then that shouldn't have come across as harsh. Was everyone using vacation time this weekend? Covering a big marathon like this should be easy for them. Amsterdam was as good as any of the fall majors so far.

Agreed! But American marathoners aren't raking in the big bucks & get the most exposure from Boston/NYC. I think that's a part of the common critique that not enough American men have run X time. Most American men choose Boston/NYC & then run for place in often times bad conditions. A lot of the European marathons get good conditions, have deep fields, & provide pacers on fast courses. It's a good recipe but that won't stop people for wondering why nobody ran super fast in Boston/Chicago this year.
