From a report on the masters competition at the Crim 10-miler:
"Masai, 42, who finished 14th overall, was running with Eddy Hellebuyck, the top U.S. masters runner, when he noticed one of Hellebuyck's shoes had come untied.
'I was with my friend Eddy until six miles and his shoe opened and I told him, "tie your shoes," then I just left,' Masai said.
'He slowed down to tie them.'
Hellebuyck wound up second in 51:12, 1:39 back of Masai."
Eddy, I can't believe you fell for the old, "Hey, your shoe's untied" tactic. I haven't fallen for that one since I was in my thirties!
