The Goal is to see who has the fastest Program, not just the fastest Girls' Team or fastest Guys' Team. The 5k High School race will have roughly 50 girls and 50 guys. Each team has max 5 guys and 5 girls. Here is what I want to do:
1. Start the girls 2:30 (based on virtual meet predictions) ahead of the guys
2. Count the Top Six runners for each team, regardless of sex/gender (so everyone has to count at least one runner from each gender)
My concerns:
1. Is it safe for the guys to be running through the MOP girls? I think the course will accommodate it fine.
2. Is this the most fair way to score a CoEd race? Would it make more sense to score the Boys and Girls SEPARATELY, then combine scores to see who has the top CoEd team? Say, Top 3 Boys and Top 3 Girls from each team?
What have I not considered? Is the whole idea a terrible one? Do you have a better idea?
