so I don't cry that easily and tend to keep things bottled up... the other day i was running and this song came on and I started tearing up but then I thought how amazing it would feel if I just cried an entire run. I kinda have a lot of stuff going on in my life right now and am kinda homesick and stressed out. so..... has anyone just bawled their eyes out an entire run with no shame?
Interesting and glad you shared. I’ve not cried during a run, not this far at least. Something about the running temperament puts me in either one of the following two states: (1) meditative; (2) fighting; neither of which are largely temperamentally compatible with crying for me. In fact, I might go for a run to clear my head of negative thoughts and emotions including sadness.
I can imagine a song moving me to cry, especially when things in my life are heavy anyway, but my running playlist tends to be high energy pop trash, so even if it’s about heartbreak, it’s about high powered “you’re not going to break me” kinda moods, never mopey sad ones.
One silver lining is that you are probably sweaty while running anyway, and don’t have to think about hiding tears if any trickling down from passers by.
