ASo here’s my situation.. I am testing to get into the Police Academy.
I have been running for months and I don’t feel like I’m making progress despite what other people are saying to me. The test consists of a 1.5 mile run and to get into the academy I have to do that in 15 minutes.
I currently weight 279 pounds and I’m only 6 ft tall so I’m a chubby little fella who can’t seem to run very well. I’m 33 years old and despite my running for months I’ve made very little progress. I feel my body can do the run, but my mind can’t seem to get the pace, breathing, and intimidation of the track conquered.
I test 1 week from today to get in, this is the 1st test if I fail I can try again. They have random dates with the last one being October 15th.
Can you provide any advice to me that may help me conquer what feels like 6 laps of impossible torture that I must put my own body through? Thank you in advance.
