RIP Norm, you'll be missed.

Norm was an example of why you have to be careful not to be too good. His income to talent ration is way too low. All his shows failed because he was too good. You have to be like Kevin James, or Seinfeld, or Ray Ramono to have a long run. Mildly funny and easy to consume. I feel like we got jipped on more Norm. Too good, just like Arrested Dev, Parks and rec, and a million other shows that tanked.
Norm should be a required case study for budding comedians when it comes to delivery. He was the best. Only comedian in history that could tell a long joke on late night TV that wasnt funny, but you laughed through the entire delivery!
Norm's genius was his delivery and his "don't give a ****" attitude. He was often cutting and dead on with his observations which, as bigmig19 stated, limited his mainstream commercial appeal.
I wonder if he can be revived with oral sex
The only time the ESPYs were interesting.
"the first defensive player to win the Heisman Trophy. Congratulations, Charles. That is something that no one can ever take away from you . . .

Would not be able to get away with a number of those jokes today.

I remember watching that live. I was dying! Great stuff. Norm was so good!

That is a perfect joke.
If you haven’t seen them, Mike Tyson’s mysteries are awesome:

One of the funniest things about Norm was his irreverence towards his bosses. From getting fired due to the OJ jokes to losing his sponsors, he lost some income, but kept his legend. I can’t hear a man grate commercial without cracking up.
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=mafhr9-lFUMIf y'all get a chance, watch at least the David Spade --1st episode of "Norm has a show" on netflix. This was in 2018, another attempt at a show, this time a talk show. Also dumped after 10 shows. He is so bad at being a talk show host, just terrible. But its funny and awesome and not enough people get him.
I disagree. He was absolute gold on Norm Macdonald Live. He was under rated as an interviewer:

You are a judgmental hypocrite. All you ever do is spew vitriol on these messageboards with your alt left posts complaining about how people aren't liberal enough for you.
You must be one of those Swedish-Germans.
Norm created the Swedish German genre of jokes.
Mike Tyson, his adopted Asian daughter, the ghost of the Marquess of Queensbury, and a perverted drunken pigeon (played by Norm) solve mysteries a la Scooby Doo style. Comedy gold.
Pigeon was great. He was also a fine blob as Yaphit:

Bill Burr paid homage to Norm on his podcast yesterday:
One of the funniest, ballsiest things he did was the time he got kicked out of Iowa:
