joke
She's had chances to improve on her time in Tokyo and she finally does it.
That WR is definitely gone next year at unless WA stop her

Still a long way off, but can definitely make big inroads.

All he/she has to do is run the first half of the race and that record is gone.

Long way off? She only started training the 200m weeks before Tokyo!
Would 21.78 be scholarship worthy?
It would rank her 116th in the US U20, but of course a lot of them are one year older than Mboma and we’re already in College in 2021.
Where would this rank her on the HS list?
21.78 makes her the 19th fastest 200m runner of all time
This race actually looked a bit different from her previous few 200m. Usually she's been falling way way behind on the curve then making up a ridiculous gap the final straight - see the Olympics. This time, while her start was still bad, she otherwise kept pace through the curve, leaving a much smaller gap that she didn't close the same way she has in the past.

I meant long way off timewise. But we have seen bigger gaps crushed this year.

An 18 year old still learning to run the 200m; the record is toast. Her sprint mechanics look more like a 400/800 runner which makes since because that's what she was until this summer.

All things considered, namely her age [barely 18]; her phsyique [very distinctly undermuscled by short sprint standards] ; her overall running technique [sketchy]; her lack of experience in short sprints specifically, how fast would you hypothetically expect her to be able to go in the 200m over the next 5-10 years?
I know he's one of the most extreme cases out there but Michael Johnson improved by a full 2 seconds after Mboma's age.
Usain Bolt is another extreme case [though he was super fast super young], he improved by about three quarters of a second post 18.
My instinct is that it has to be possible for Mboma to go at least one full second faster, i.e. to dip well below 21 seconds. She has genuine speed.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Johnson_(sprinter)#Season's_bestshttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Usain_Bolt#Season's_bestsTotal BS.............a man running against women.......! Track and Field will destroy itself (even further) if they allow this crap to continue.
Depending on timing of the obvious outcome, complete eventual removal of DSDs from the female category - this future 100 meter record holder for women (some time after the 200) doesn't even have a PR in the 100 yet in her world athletics profile. Next spring, bet she goes below 11 in her first competitive finals in the 100.
