I would like to know what the reasoning was behind the 560m track…that was hard to watch

Men's 5K field is pretty weak, not a lot of big names
I’ll be somewhat surprised if the winner is not Kejelcha or Aregawi, though I suppose Kimeli could come through.
Kejelcha in 13:09.
This women's high jump is really great
Some events work well in a street style like pole vault, high jump, maybe some sprints. I wouldn't put long distance events in this category (or the javelin for that matter).
Aregawi has shown good form. 4 man race with Kejelcha, Balew, Kimeli.
I'll take the youngster Aregawi
Put the javelin on a farm. On the cow pasture.

Too many dumps to avoid.
You guys will bi+<h about anything. These are great competitions.
This may be a dumb question, but why do you never see long jumpers land on their feet? All of the best jumps in history had the jumper landing on their feet. Bob Beamon saying that's the way you should land.
I’ll have kejelcha, kimeli, aregawi in that order

Aregawi needs to chop a lot off a 13.08.xx PB to win
Why would you put anyone above kimeli. He's a racer. Kehelcha is good but he won't always race to win with everything he has.
This track reminds me of the off kilter indoor tracks of the D2 and D3 colleges that hosted indoor invitationals for the high schools back in the day. Tight turns. Blind corners. Non standard lap distance.

I’ve noticed you have a habit of this, statman—relying too heavily on dated PBs. Like a 24 year old woman could be having a breakthrough season where they lower their 5k PB from 15:10 to 14:45, but if someone predicts they’ll run 30:50 in an upcoming 10k, you’re likely to chime in with “Do you really think they can take 1.5 minutes off their [four year old] PB?” Sometimes you’ve gotta read the signs and extrapolate between distances. Anyone who saw Aregawi run 26:50 with a ~54” last lap in Hengelo, then place 4th in the Olympic 10k, and then challenge Ingebrigtsen over 3k last week could gather that he’s good for way faster than 13:08, or 12:58 for that matter.

14:28 win for Niyonsaba over Obiri and Taye.
End of great 5000m career for Obiri. Excellent results since she transitioned up from a successful 1500m career. Now I suspect she will run 64low and sub 2:20 on the roads
She was the first woman in her final race
100%
So hard to enjoy women racing these days.

Political correctness takes a huge dump on the sport.
