You are correct. I thought he was done with 600 to go and then boom the last 200.
Chelimo LOST. Get over it.
Paul Chelimo!
As long as he continues to towel up the doping apologist Woody Kincaid I’ll be happy. How could you let someone dope under your nose when it’s that big is absolutely beyond me.

I’m guessing that you’re the beta type that someone could yell TRACK! at in the middle of a race, and then you would move over.
I really think his last 450 was tactically perfect. He came as close to 2nd as reasonably positive by positioning, not panicking and defending his position. As Desi said, ‘if you ain’t rubbing, you ain’t racing ‘
So "get over it"... by the logic that Chelimo is lame because he did not win the 2-mile today, you have contempt for every athlete that does not win every race?
You must REALLY enjoy the sport of track & field!
I'm a big fan. The Chelimo chaos factor makes every race interesting, he keeps with the lead, and always goes for it. Also seems like a cool dude (off the track!)
Love Chelimo. There is absolutely nobody that runs harder than that guy. These last two months have turned me into a fan. He is the real deal.
Would be great to see him continue his season in Europe.
He races like a person who has no common sense. So many times he should have been DQ’d for his antics and unfortunately no lessons have been learned. He causes so much mayhem in every race. I just hope he get DQ’d at some point so he changes his tactics a bit. If not eventually he’s going to cause a major spill and hurt someone or cause a major spill that impacts an important race.
No.

Same. I never have to look too far back for some idiot who thinks he's going to pull a Silky Sullivan

Mostly agree, but it also leaves me wondering if he cleaned up his tactics and positioned himself better he could pull off some big wins rather than just desperate lunges for 2nd/3rd? It's as if he's confident enough to emerge from chaos (self-inflicted or otherwise) for a podium, but not confident enough to run like a boss at the bell and force everyone else to beat him like most of the greats do (re: Joshua, Tim, Jakob, Mo, KennyB, El-G, etc...). Seems like a whole lot less contact when you've got the pole and everyone else is chasing - let them do the stumbling/bumbling while you're breaking the tape. Just a thought...
Chelimo was a teammate of mine at UNCG, and I really want to watch that 2-mile race. Any place to find it w/out paying that bull$hit $13/mo USATF+ sub? Thanks
I have a subscription to YouTube TV and it has an ‘Olympic Channel’ as part of it’s lineup. For me the Pre meet will run on 8/30 at 9 pm. Maybe you could get a free trial of a streaming service that includes this.
