Something is not right. Why a small country like Jamaica produce all these elite sprinters?
People give a crap about sprinting in Jamaica. People grow up idiolozing a lot of sprinters. In the US most of our best athletes pursue other sports.
What would that be with a +2.0?

Have you been watching the U20 champs in Nairobi ?
Be it Snr or Jr,African genes dominate sprints and Jamaicans
have not been diluted over the centuries like Americans have.
The Massas were not prodigious visitors to the slave quarters
in Jamaica like their Americans cousins were.

I know one thing the first name of Bolt is not British and comes probably from his ancestry.
Still surprising that Namibia (1.5 millions population) is giving more elite U20 sprinters than the whole of Africa.

Sorry Botswana
I think it more has to do with American talent going into football.
Questions we'll never know the answer to...
of course, this is not a reason for why their women are so much better than ours.

Bolt is an Anglo-Saxon name and it does have British origins that originally trace back to what is now modern Germany.
https://www.houseofnames.com/bolt-family-crestAs for how tiny Jamaica dominates women's sprinting, all I can think of is the radioactive beets that Mrs. Howell consumed on an episode of Gilligan's Island and she ran around in 3d.
In the Yams case it's a radioactive Yam that has lost it's potency on the men but is downright frightening for the women.
That was awesome.

It's been going on since the 1920s, whatever it is.

During slavery, Jamaica served as Britain's slave penal colony for the most unruly, rebellious slaves. "Slave breaking" was particularly harsh there.
unofficial WR?
Great track tradition and coaching. Their national high school meet - Champs - you have to be great to make the finals.
Perfectly normal, nothing to see here, carry on.
Awesome, yet Richardson thread is five pages long....sad.
Well done Elaine
