Yes, she had an older sister who died 2 years ago from cancer and then I believe they have 2 brothers as well.

3 brothers.
so awful. have they made an arrest yet? And I agree about Roy Griak.
This isn't nitpicky or pedantic at all, it is spot on. There needs to be a quantum shift in how crimes committed using motor vehicles as weapons are viewed...and prosecuted and punished. Although given the power of the automobile and fossil fuel lobbies and the "behind-the-windshield-perspective" of cops and DAs entrusted to enforce already woefully weak laws that continually let motorists off the hook for criminal behavior, I don't see this happening anytime soon.
If the cretinous POS who killed Abby had done so using anything other than an automobile as the murder weapon, they would already be in jail.
I agree.
why on earth was there no arrest made?? regardless of whether alcohol was involved, the person should have been arrested for manslaughter on the spot at least.

Some one related to someone with position or money.

Hopefully that is not the case but rather a thorough investigation is underway and the DA wants to make sure they do everything by the book to ensure the best odds of conviction.
Execute the driver
The driver has been named.. Looks like drugs to me
So sad,
Rest In Peace, will pray for you & the family.
I always pray before I start my run Thur the streets to return back home safe.
OK so a little knowledge is a dangerous thing but it appears that the driver is a registered dietician at the University of Minnesota. It also appears that the driver’s father was paralyzed in a traffic accident when he was 23 in 1978. The father died in April. What a strange world we live in.
haven't read all the responses but has no one mentioned the fact that the article says this person ran over her two times, the first time by pushing her through a fence? i mean, i don't know how one can really be that out of it even if on drugs, but this is definitely murder.

Limit the licenses. Revoke privileges for minor infractions. Get everyone to slow the F down and car pool. Drive sensibly.
Just flat out ban cars and motorcycles period it should not even be discussed. People will adapt and get used to moving themselves around on push bikes and will become much healthier to boot.
Car companies can easily be reconverted to making push bikes and give some much needed competition to companies like Trek. We need to create the Golden Era of the American push bike.

You said "he", it was a she. Any reports on if she was impaired?

The “he” is her deceased father.

Comprehension, brother. Try it sometime.
Any updates? Has the killer been arrested?
Any updates? All I can find is that the driver was tested for suspicion of DUI and results were pending, but that was from August. Obviously they know if she was drunk or not by now. Have any charges been filed?
It has now been four months since this accident. Does anyone from Minneapolis have an update? Arrest or not? Drunk or not? I tried to search online but there is almost nothing since a couple days after the accident. Even a search for the name of the driver, Melinda Dotray, leads to nothing.

This would be a good thing for the BroJos to follow up on. Media asking questions of the local authorities could put some pressure on them to move forward.
If an arrest hasn't been made by now, I'm guessing it will not happen.... sad.
