From someone who raced XC last spring on college after the release of Dragonflys...you'll def see a ton of them this XC season. IMO depends on the course. Flat and dry courses may be okay but even then, don't be surprised to encounter some tendonitis after rolling your ankle in that stack height. Overall I don't think they will provide any significant benefit/advantage like they do on the track, but to each their own.
Grass? Hahahahaha. Unless it’s wet, muddy and has exposed roots, it’s not cross country. Might as well call it bumper bowling if the course is dry and grass.
