Kipsang looked awesome.
Kipsang looked awesome.
considering a semi just went out in 3:31 by a guy not even in the conversation to win?

Why do so many people this Final will be sub 3:30? Even with the likes of doper Kiprop in the past, it was never sub 3:30. Winner will be 3:32 AT FASTEST.
aged well
Worst take of my life haha I stand corrected!
Thank God we don't have to hear about the "Master Tactician" and "He's the defending Gold Medallist". They set a hard pace and no tactics can help you if you can't handle it.
This 1500 final is going to be absolutely amazing!
Damn what a semi. Centro looked like he was jogging last 100m. Feeling a lot better about Kerr now for a medal though hard to say he's a gold threat if he can't win a heat.
Finish 2779 Kenya KIPSANG A 3:31.65
1200 1091 Australia MCSWEYN S 2:50.79
800 1091 Australia MCSWEYN S 1:54.94
400 3081 Norway INGEBRIGTSEN J 57.16
Hocker: 57.1 - 1:57.4 (60.3) - 2:54.7 (57.3) - 3:33.8 (39.1)
3 brits in the final, one American.... just the 260 million population difference between the two.
Ingebrigtsen jogged it in. Spent most of the race looking around.
Medalists are:
Ingebrigtsen
Cheruiyot
Hocker

Actually closer to 3:34 with 3:33.87.
...and that, ladies and germs, is how you handle a "master tactician".

Congratulations Mr. Hocker, and I’m assuming you are perhaps his father.
Kudos.
mcsweyn making it honest in a semi (and first round) was his best play. i wonder if he will try to do it in the final, but even today he looked pretty tired by the end and not sure if he was 331 or 332 since he fell back to 5th or so. centro apparently is a 333 guy. seeing how many guys were able to hang with him would probably dissuade someone from trying that in the final unless they went significantly faster (probably only tim and jakob capable of that and still thinks it unlikely to see)

He knew where his strengths were...been saying this all week, can't understand why those who don't have a kick just sit in a slow pace thinking that somehow this time they will have speed.
Well done Stewy, but the final is going to be tough

Trampoline track. With a normal track that's 3:35 on the dot.
Gjert is sure final will be fast. Just said on Norwegian TV its going to be 3.28-3.29
Those were two of the best middle distance semis I can remember in championships. Every guy who qualified made a statement. Very few guys fading and still advancing.
Out of the 12 in the final, there are maybe 3 who I would be surprised to see get gold. Everyone else looks like a legit contender.
