If every runner runs their current best capability, I think it would go 1) Syd 2) Bol 3) Muhammad.
Hurdles jumping can be flaky, though. There's far more pressure on Syd as heavy favorite than on Bol.
So with that, here's my own prediction: Sydney is still favorite, but she's more likely to have a catastrophic failure and finish 6th-8th / DNF than she is to finish 3rd.
Bol is coming into this similar to Van Neikerk 5 years ago. No one was even talking about him, out there in lane 8. Everyone thought Kirani James could set the world record. And it wasn't even close. While I think Syd wins it, crazier things have happened than the idea of Bol winning.

That second one was me! I gave my reasons and I still think she'll win but I did qualify it by saying I'll take a chance.
You know, everyone is basing this on McLaughlin's WR which was a hair under 52 but we're seeing that Heyward Field track may be a lot faster than this one. Americans are not matching those Trials times.
both 100m guys not named bromell ran pbs. most other races are in heats so why would we see faster?
We're seeing runners get eliminated a lot earlier than predicted. You already mentioned Bromell and also Prandini. Trials winner and runnerup and they were gone early.
Femke is good but she will lose to Sydney by more than a second.
American sweep.

Explain Rai Benjamin, since you're talking about a 400 hurdler potentially not performing as they did at the trials
WHITES ARE DOMINATING!
Sydney McLaughlin said "pressure is just an illusion." She's mentally tough enough to handle the pressure.

Absolutely cruised through the rounds. She is in top form. Her victory will be considered an "upset" though it really shouldn't be. Supreme athlete ready to dominate. You heard it here first.
It would definitely be considered an upset and should be if she beat the top two women ever in the sport and the current and former WR holders. The one advantage she has is her height. She doesn’t have to jump at all to get over the hurdles. Still don’t see her winning tho. Plus you weren’t the first person to say this. You sound like a real twat lol
McLaughlin looks unbeatable, but anything can happen in the final 400H. I wouldn’t bet against Bol, but she will have to run the race of her life and Sydney will have to mess up somewhere.
Is this Peter Bol's sister?
SM will drop it (WR) another second.
If Warholm, Benjamin, and Dos Santos did what they did, what the hell are McLaughlin, Muhammad, and Bol going to do tonight? It might take a world record just to get silver.

10) 52.47 Lashinda Demus USA September 1, 2011
I do agree Bol is being overlooked. McLaughlin and Muhammad pushed each other at the trials, but Bol hasn't raced such stiff competition and can surely go faster. I picked her for second and Muhammad for bronze, but I don't think a Bol upset would be all that shocking.
Actually, Bol WAS pushed to the absolute limit in Stockholm by Little. She hasn't faced McLaughlin or Muhammad yet but she has definitely been pushed.
52.37 Femke Bol Netherlands July 4, 2021
52.39 Shamier Little USA July 4, 2021

Yes I think Bol is the Alison Dos Santos of this race. Setting Area Records, holding off great athletes (McMaster vs. Little), great on the circuit and hitting a new level this year.
Prediction: McLaughlin 51.4x, Muhammad 51.8x, Bol 52.0x
WR with either Syd or Delilah winning, Bol in bronze.
That's the only outcome.
