Inflammation of the oesophagus. Does it affect breathing in itself? Sometimes I feel like somebody has got a hand round my throat. Just wondering if I should take it easy or even whether running might be dangerous?

I sometimes get acid reflux after drinking soda. Have you tried an acid reducer, like Pepcid?
In your case, it sounds like you should also talk with a doctor. Try sleeping on your left side, too. Hope it clears up!

Thanks for the good advice. I hadn't thought about the sleeping side affecting it. I recently injured my left shoulder, so I've been sleeping on my right side recently. Sounds like it may be a reason. I am seeing a doctor next week.
Thanks!

You're welcome!! Sorry about the shoulder, too. I'm a right side sleeper and so sleeping on the left side is not always comfortable, but it does help reduce the acid. Maybe stuff a pillow under the mattress by your head for some elevation. I do that when I'm congested.
Glad you have a doctor's appointment soon. Hope you're soon on the mend.
