Too bad the police were attending to more important things than addressing her case.
Now that the guy is in jail it seems Emily finally fells safe telling the entire story.
The police and FBI did address her case, and she, after several years, got a restraining order, which he violated multiple times. It is likely that many of these stalking cases end after the stalker gets outed by the police and FBI. Emily's stalker was far over the line.
What level of "stalking" is necessary for police to address a case? Are posting about how a woman looks on LRC sufficient? I don't think there is enough room in jails to handle every person guilty of this on LRC. There are certain posters on LRC who would have been jailed long ago.
When you say “the police,” I think you mean the FBI and a random police jurisdiction in Tennessee that happened to run into this guy by chance.
The Portland Police, by their own admission, had not followed up on the case, didn’t arrest him in Oregon when they — again, by their own admission — had sufficient cause to do so, made no effort to find the creep after he left Oregon, and blamed protesters for their own failure to protect a citizen under their care.
Your tax dollars at work, folks!
