A 1.5 drop in life expectancy in America in 2020 is nonsense.
Per official numbers, @ 596,640 Americans died of Covid in 2020 and the 1st six months of this year.
US population is @ 331 million.
https://www.statista.com/statistics/1191568/reported-deaths-from-covid-by-age-us/
So in 2020 maybe 400k/331 million or
Avg age at death of nearly 80 (hard to get exact # -- median age is 82).
Let's call it 75 (understated) to make the numbers work
Life expectancy in America is 76 for males and 81 for females. Call it 78.5 for both genders
So @ 1 in 800 million Americans died from Covid in 2020. with an average age at death of 75, replacing the expected 78.5.
Doing the math and we find that avg life expectancy would drop 0.04 years
Move the avg age a death to 10 and the drop goes to 0.09 years.
Given only 1 in 800 Americans died from Covid there is no way in Heck that life expectancy in America could have have dropped even 0.1 year.
Think before you accept what you are told
