Those New Zealand gangs are pretty rough. Some gangs deal drugs, some run drugs, others traffic humans. In New Zealand, they trade in KFC:

They still need to double their vaccination rate to be fully open (90% fully vaccinated before re-opening compared to 46% currently vaccinated), so they will reopen next year some time.
You can't do arithmetic.
There is a three to four week lag between first and second dose unless you a saying people go for first one and then dont bother.
First dose is 76% and growing about 1% a day
USA on other hand has been stuck on 56% full and 62% first dose for months, which explains your Covid numbers and deaths.

Giving up? There's a push for increasing vaccination - which is happening. The lockdowns were never going to be permanent. I am currently enjoying a coffee in a capital cafe and a return to normal life. We have had 27 Covid deaths to your 700+k. So tell us how to manage it.
Looks like Arden is starting to back track from
her lockdown stance as well.
Despite COVID cases being up 87% from last week (link below) New Zealand is starting to ease COVID restrictions.

Another week of lockdowns in Auckland. Going on 9 weeks and still exponential growth as the country continues to vaccinate with vaccines that aren't particularly great against the strain that is making its way through the population.
More "vaccinations", more sick people.
Isn't the opposite supposed to happen ?
And it continues down in New Zealand…
Six weeks ago NSW peaked at asbou 1500 cases a day. Now that we have hit 82 % double dose we have dropped steadily in that time to only 260/day despite restrictions now lifted because of the vax
Still much more vaccinations to come as our single dose is 93% and still climbing.
Canberra's single dose is 97.9%
What more proof do you need?
They aren't interested in proof, that's part of the problem.

Yes, Auckland has almost 70% of its population fully vaxxed and almost 90% with one shot.
https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.theguardian.com/world/2021/oct/18/new-zealand-covid-update-auckland-to-remain-in-lockdown-even-as-fully-vaccinated-hit-70However, despite this, the city is still locking down for at least two more weeks. When you give a government the type of power that the Kiwis have given their government said government is going to be very hesitant to let go of said power.
When Auckland vaccination rates reach 90% watch the goal posts shift again.
Remembering that they are quoting 90% of the eligible population, not 90% of the total population. New Zealand has made it very complicated for themselves by splitting the population into vaccination eligibility groups that don't align with the majority of other countries reporting. UK played the same card, touting massive vaccinations when, in reality, it was only the percentage within select groups of the population. You can twist the numbers any way you like in order to suit.

Wait, what? They have 90% with one shot, lockdowns in Auckland and they still had a 43% increase in cases last week? How does that happen?

Something must have happened for you to be like this.

I’ve been to New Zealand once and Australia twice.
I’m interested in and concerned with tyrannical behavior whatever country it may be found in.

If you are vaccinated, you would be free to do what you want legally in NSW.
If you are not vaccinated, you won't even be allowed in, as there is a quota for quarrantine places.
Novak Djokovic has been told he won't be let in for Australian Open without proof of double vax
Here we are 20 months into this BS and you guys are still buying into the narrative.
Scary

This is in line with what we experienced in NSW and now in Victoria (who is behind in both outbreak and vax).
We peaked around 1600 cases/day early Sept, and now two weeks after reaching 70% fully vaxxed and easing retstrictions, we have continued to drop to 270, with a spike obviously predicted around now.
NSW is 93%/83% first /second dose, nationally 85/70%
Our eligible population is 16 and over, however we are also now vaccinating 12-15, which is now 60%/26%
5-11 should be getting vaxxed from around mid December, depending on approvals
The outcome is cases has been as follows:
Three weeks ago when we were 66% double vaxxed in NSW, only 10% of cases and only 5% of hospitalisations were double vaxxed. That was approx 600 out of 6000 cases for the week.
Since our numbers are now a tenth of that, it is obvious that at current vax %, the vaxxed are now protecting the unvaxxed (do the arithmetic), even though not locked down.
Other than stuff being open it feels pretty much the same where I am.
Interesting with Perro in charge. He seems to be the 'we're open and not going back' type.
That’s interesting and all, but cases and deaths still rose 2% last week and are at record levels in Australia. I don’t know how that would be possible with the vaccination numbers you are claiming in addition to shutdowns and travel restrictions. It likely won’t be long before the vaccinated catch and spread delta, as the vaccines you are relying on were designed around the alpha strain (it sounds like they already are). Good luck though, mate. We’re cheering for ya.
