If you want to be particular, by “nothing” I do not literally mean “nothing,” they gave us an answer. They determined she was not impeded enough to be given an advancement. Those are technically the rules, but if anyone has ran an 800m you would see what happened and know that not to be the case. I was not looking at the results at that time, so I do not know if my athlete had any kind of notification next to her name in the results that designated she was under impending review as well. I was too focused on submitting my form and also being there for her to update on what’s going on. If they were supposed to include it, but didn’t, then that might mean their decision was a quick and easy one that wasn’t the focus of their review.
Again, I am not blaming any runner entirely. I am just trying to make sense of it. The system isn’t perfect. It is a review committee, not a machine. Therefore, there is subjective interpretation. I personally believe it was wrong and also reserve my right to do so. We protested, got delivered an answer, and it wasn’t the answer we were looking for. I am just here to deliver my side of the story. I don’t know if you particularly enjoy that, but I saw a thread that my runner was involved in and thought I could share our perspective.
