I need some fellow father advice... ( Background info: Up to two years ago we lived in Japan so I have little idea of what is normal/safe in the US)
I have an eleven year old daughter. During COVID she has had little contact with other kids outside the family. Now that things are opening up, activity with kids in the neighborhood is becoming a possibility. Of course she wants to play with other kids. Last night she was playing with a group of about 6 kids and moving around between 3 or four different yards. When we went to see where she was, it took us a bit of time to find her. I am uncomfortable with her roaming around the neighborhood. My wife is less concerned. It is a good neighborhood and the other kids seem like good kids but I worry about her safety. Am I being overprotective? What rules do you have for your daughters/children?
