Are these guys still able to add peas and carrots to their diet? Aouita was a 1:50/3:40/13:50 guy until he started adding the peas and carrots at 23.

Athletics Hicham El Guerrouj: "Athletics is in my blood!"
Saturday June 15, 2002
Suffering, beliefs, doping, retraining ... Before the Gaz de France meeting in Paris-Saint-Denis on July 5, the Moroccan star in the middle distance is engaged.
That day, Hicham El Guerrouj just got off the plane. He's coming back from the United States. · Eugene in Oregon, the one we now nickname El G won on May 27 his sixty two victory in sixty-five races (1,500 meters and mile combined) since 1996. But two of the three defeats, which adorn this formidable series, are the most cruel because they occurred during the Olympic finals of the Games of Atlanta (1996) and Sydney (2000). So the Moroccan continues his tireless quest for Olympic gold. While waiting for Athens 2004, he has already signed in the United States the best world performance of the season on the mile (3'50''89) for his first race of the year.
Pressed by his schedule, Berkane's child will only stay a few hours in Paris, the time to go to Roland-Garros where he had never set foot. Before taking another plane for Morocco, he gives us a little of his time, as timed as an athletics race. Quietly in the sun of the Porte d'Auteuil.
You say, “I'm a athletic freak.” What does that mean in your mind?
Hicham El Guerrouj. Quite simply that when you love something, you have to love it deeply and one hundred percent. Me, athletics is in my blood. Between life and athletics, maybe I prefer athletics. I like running. When I'm on the track, I'm happy and when you're happy on the track, you're happy off the track as well.
Athletics, however, is often a pain ...
Hicham El Guerrouj. Yes. Every time I do workouts I go all out and then it hurts all over but I love that pain I need it to run.
What is it that allows you to hurt yourself on a daily basis?
Hicham El Guerrouj. First and foremost is the passion for athletics. Then, I have the chance to count on a really very solid entourage. Those around me really love athletics. My family, my father, my mother are passionate about this sport. They push me to run as far and as fast as possible.
Your entourage pushes you but you are also very religious. Isn't there someone else who also gives you a little helping hand ...
Hicham El Guerrouj. (Smile) Yes, I consider it to be God who gave me the gift for athletics. But this gift, I exploit it by training myself every day to make people vibrate and to please others.
Defeats like victories, you take them like messages

Athletics wasn't the only thing in his blood.

What ever you do, you will never succeed to convince people that African (countries in development in general) are dirty.
You try to convince yourself that you are living in a high level system and what do your system is a progress.
In fact, all I see in this is exploitation and more exhibition of this old principle "The Law of the strong vs the week" by this great predator in earth called the Homo-Sapiens.
In the last, years I have completely changed my vision and my mind
I know there is something bigger and our perception is limited.
I say this before going to work (three ahead foe me).

Yeah yeah, the old 'EPO is just giving Africans a level playing field' argument.
That might be attractive to some imbeciles here, but even they might struggle to consider El G and his teammates 'noble savages' without a concept of time. Rather the product of a GDR style system built around not winning 500 Olympic gold medals, but in producing solely the fastest 1500m runner in history - El G.
And they did. But not for much longer. Hello Jakob, we waited a long time for you.

Have some decency and respect Bahrain that brought to the world a name like Salwa Eid Naser.

Aouita is preparing to direct an athletics academy project in Marrakech..But!
https://anfaspress.com/storage/cover/19-12/PrpJOQeEB7xJOznC0FyE1JgRzvLgrfBBtX8tOfYI.jpeg
For months, the former world champion Said Aouita has been busy with the program to create an academy for athletics, stressing that it will be a private institution that will supervise the formation of runners, behind whom Said Aouita aims to achieve stardom, whether at the national or international level.
To this extent, the matter remains legitimate and deserves encouragement, but what raises a set of observations is the insistence of the world champion to establish a partnership with the Marrakech City Council, whose purpose behind this is financial support, especially since Aouita knows that partnerships with the councils put him in embarrassing situations, because the councils have Electoral colors and the Sports Academy have a purely sporting orientation.
However, observers wonder in this regard: Why did he not resort to the Ministry of Youth and Sports, which remains the first qualified to conclude with the components of this sports academy the appropriate partnership for this event?
Between the visions of Said Aouita and the reality of the matter, the thought of creating a sports academy remains hostage to a special financial balance that makes Said Aouita not need such embarrassing situations that he is living in today, and he finds all the procrastination from the two teams in supporting his sports project.

Almost none talk negatively about Aouita in Morocco (this is not the case of others runners) but it's sure he has a lot of enemies in Athletics clubs and some politic heads.
Three female athletes removed from the Olympics due to a doping test
The Royal Moroccan Athletics Federation decided to exclude three female athletes from participating in the upcoming Olympic Games, despite achieving the minimum participation, due to their failure to undergo doping detection tests, in implementation of the program established by the World Anti-Doping Agency before the start of the major international demonstrations, where Siham Al-Hilali was excluded. Specializing in the middle distances, Souad Al-Kambousheya, and Majida Mayouf, as the International Federation requires all national athletic federations to subject its runners to five tests for doping, provided that each of them is separated by 21 days, with the exception of young runners, under 21 years of age, who They are subject to only three, which is not available in the aforementioned runners.
Thank God that under Coe the IAAF introduced this rule.

18 runners achieve minimum qualification for the Tokyo Olympics
The number of runners who achieved the minimum allowed to participate in the Olympics rose to 18, after Abdelati El Kass managed to achieve the minimum in the 800-meter race, on Tuesday evening, in the technical tests conducted by the National Technical Administration of the University of Athletics at the National Institute in Rabat, to join Bassama Nabil, who recorded his attendance last Saturday, in the national championship, and Mustafa Samaali, who booked his place early in the same specialty.
The technical department has concluded all the tests for achieving the minimum qualification for the Olympics, and it will be decided next week in the list that will represent the national athletics in Tokyo, especially since the International Athletics Federation is waiting to receive the regulations of runners from the local federations of the game, for official approval, as well as for the inventory The competitions included in the Tokyo Olympics, given the use of the "quota", to determine the regulations in which runners failed to achieve the minimum.
