All of these SEC teams are not used to these conditions. They were all mostly confined to the south for meets.
Biggest L’s so far
Oregon men(only 1 in the 1500 final, 1 in the 800 final, 4x1 blew up). A dq. A 3:34 man not making it. Hunter and Hocker looked good tho
LSU 4x400 (don’t know why Noah williams didn’t do the relay. He looked like he struggled a bit in the heats tho of the 400)
Iowa state(Festus Lagat is the only mid d man in the ncaa final. 10k runners blew up.)
Kameron Jones(a 1:45 guy not making it to the final)
Biggest W’s
The 10k for being a good race the whole way
Shaun Maswanganyi(don't be surprised if he wins the 100)
NCAT
The rest of LSU(won the javelin despite coming in ranked 9th)
oops and Long Jump. Last L goes to the ESPN broadcast. Just bad

Dever & Hicks just ran faster than Scott & Farah did a few days back - -Great Britain has a couple of future stars in the making.
Dever has a very definite New Zealand accent. Definitely not British, Australian or South African.
so you are arguing with the facts that he is British because of his accent

Honorable mention for biggest L's goes to Michigan - falls in the 1500, 110H, Steeple, & DNF'd the 4x4

Hmm. Must have grown up in New Zealand with that accent. Maybe moved to the UK the when he was a bit older (for uni). Kiwi accent, 100%

Nope. Just noting it is a Kiwi accent, so he must have grown up in NZ. Plenty of Australians and Kiwis with dual UK citizenship.
Like most of my family..
Not from New Zealand - born and raised in Lancashire, England! A very English accent
He’s 25 years old. Karma for Mantz.

How?
Dever is 24 years old, 25 in September.
Mantz will turn 25 in December.
How did he have that much eligibility. Mantz went on a two year mission. What did Dever do?

I think they've shown about 5 laps total of this 10k. Possibly less. The collective users of letsrun should pool our money together to buy the rights to this meet
Someone (Rojo?) should write ESPN with several suggestions. 1) Consider putting ads in between the 28 heats of the lane races versus loading them in the 10,000 (and probably 5,000 - time will soon tell on that). Not sure why we need in depth coverage of the athletes lining up in their blocks for 2-3 minutes. 2) Consider getting someone with who actually ran in track races onto the team of commentators. 3) Consult someone on what portions of the distance races need to be shown.
As has been pointed out their coverage of XC was pretty good - but could have been better. But this track coverage is a joke.
Why on earth would Mantz give up a whole inside lane for Dever...Who probably had too much run left anyway, but still? Interesting tactic?
Especially ironic given their protest in the 1500 LOL
Because the 10000 is incredibly boring
It's this crappy weather. It's horrible and I don't understand why these NCAA people don't get it. I don't care if Oregon is the home of track. The weather says different. Oregon never fails to disappoint. Always raining. I hate that place for track.
I always wonder what is basically different about a 10k race, from a 5k race—apart from the fact that it’s twice as long.
Same athletes, same track, same tactics, just all at a bit faster pace?
Marathon, now that’s different. Maybe.

+1
But apparently the distance guys love it. Crap for everything else. Throws can be actually dangerous in those conditions.

who is this dever guy
Been there all year. 5th in Stillwater
Anyone protest Texas A&M uniform violation? the two guys in the same heat of the 800m prelim had different tops on. Surprised someone didn't say anything to get DQ's knowing how petty D1 coaches are.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
