I'll bet against you on the sub-28.
He meant sub 29:00 not sub 28:00, because 14:00/29:00 are equivalent value.
We can't compare Gidey with Hassan until they confront.
For now it's 1-0 for Sifan Hassan
We can't judge Hassan on Cross Country because at the junior time, she was refugee .
The thing 3:51 on 1500m, Gidey should answer to it.
Jos Hermens manages both Gidey and Cheptegei. That is all you need to know.

It's very simple. The Italian "doctors" down in uncontrolled Ethiopia tried a powerful conconction in 2015 and needed to tweak it after 2019. Job well done on getting the pharmaceutical mixture right.

None of you naysayers have any proof of doping, so stfu.

Gordon ... Umm... Chinese record 29:31.78 ; 9/8/1993 .. nearly three decades (~28 years) ago ... time flying by.

Lol. You measure clean pros with 31:20 Sara Hall? 31:20 is amateur sports.
THERE GOES THE LIGHT THEORY!!

The Chinese records are still worth mocking - consider not only did they break WRs by significant amounts they ran an ridiculous number of races in WR time in a very short period of time and there were many of them all breaking the old records - and only in China. There was no official 5K record at that time but the WB was broken in the 2nd half of that 10K in 14:30's, then most of them disappeared and so on and so on. At least in this case it was 2 runners who have showed WR fitness for several years, they have not raced a ton, and are subjected to at least some drug testing, and its possible the shoes helped - not saying I am not somewhat cynical too but the number of red flags is not nearly the same.

Grandma Hall probably isn't clean either.
Awesome race

When was the last time any of these athletes had an out of competition drug test? This whole meet is ridiculous.
Almost as ridiculous as those Norwegian athletes - the 400m hurdler and the Ingiwhatshiface. We know those col weather people can't run fast like that naturally!
Give me the shoes and the EPO and 2 years to train, and I still couldn’t run anywhere close to that time. Insane.
Sad that we have to question these records, but I’m not letting it spoil the fun.

+1.
EPO + shoes is a helluva combo.

More like 3-0. When they raced each other in 2019 Hassan won Pre 3000m, Brussels 5000m and WC 10000m.

Awwww. Butthurt? Its really too bad those Norwegian athletes are getting a shytload of testing off season...unlike your shady characters there

I would Bett she's a hell of a lot cleaner than those pharmacies on two legs.
And yet none of those Chinese records and wins were ever expunged. If they cannot catch one of the most blatant acts of state sponsored doping since East Germany, they will virtually never catch individualized doping.
Unfortunately having followed these sports I am cynical and rightly so. I do not believe there has been a champion cyclist, sprinter or distance runner in the last 50 years who was clean. The red flag beyond associations is that when an endurance athlete is head and shoulders better than elite peers and is breaking PED infested records, that is always a telltale sign. The genie is out of the bottle, the testing is a joke, they cannot catch the vast majority of cheaters even if they wanted to, and the incentives are too high. Whenever a WR is broken in this sport doping should be presumed. If that is OK, so be it. I still watch cycling, but I put it in perspective. I am just ticked off for the athletes. In the 90s ever single cyclist on a major team had to dope or go home. It was that simple. That was the choice. They all started out as talented amateurs (even Armstrong) but were corrupted by a dirty sport. Same with running.
