The recent unhappy adventures involving our NJSIAA officials continued at the State Sectionals this weekend with the unnecessary DQ of 4:06 man Braddock and the silly banning of starting blocks. But the problem with officials began way before this weekend.
The 2020 Indoor MOC 1600 was ended a lap short due to miscounting with Murphy and Powell en route to a possible sub 4:10.
The 2011 boys MOC 3200m was called off with 1 lap remaining ruining Rosa's chance of running sub 8:40, and leaving Elkaim, Pearson, McDonald, Ball and others deprived of remarkable times. In this instance, thunder was apparently detected an echoing 10 miles from the site with 1 lap to go.
Perhaps other NJ LRers can recall other missteps by NJSIAA officials and can share these stories with us.
If you are an official, here is your chance to defend some of these questionable calls.
