Haha, no science here.
Conjecture. It’s fun!

So you don´t think any of the Etiophians will place? I think Gebrhiwet will go sub 13 if the race is fast. And I won´t count Edris and Haile Bekele out either. They may have saved their strength for this race.
I hope the frontrunners will go sub 12:50. If the pace schedule holds the 3000m will go in 7:43.
I won´t be surprised if the fastests can go around 5 minutes for the last 2000m!
Jakob has a habit of running well under 2:30 in the last 1000m so he "just" have to keep the pace between 3000 and 4000 to average 2:30 per km for the last 2km.
In Jakob´s last (and only) paced 5000m in DL London 2019 he ran the last 2000m in around 5:06 and the last 1000m in 2:26.
In the final of the3000m indoor European Championship 2021 he ran the last 1km in between 2:21 and 2:22 (he reportedly only went all in the last 100m).
I think Crippa also might go sub 13 but not sure about Katir and Knight.

Alright screw you guys. I'm calling Ahmed for the W.
Oh yeah, that piece of work. I wonder if he'll grab a shirt and pull Chepty or Jakob to the ground.
Careful now, the peakedtooearly guys claimed the conspiracy that it was Centros fault, manipulating Scott into making the gap so tight that Mo would fall. They might come at you with another conspiracy!

You say you follow these guys but you don't know Barega ran 7:26 indoors a few months ago?
Don't know how well that translates to an outdoor 3k but I think he's in top shape.
I was really a big fan of Barega and was following his progress through his twitter and info sites but I'm afraid he has this issue of finish. I'm still waiting this "great awakening" from him, especially the IAAF ranked him as the best rising runner in 2019.
At best he could be a male version of S. Hassan (she also a problem of kick).
Pretty clueless post. Both Barega and Hassan has great kicks.

So six under 13 like on Italian soil in 2019? I’ll say four.
Gebrhiwet and Edris will certainly run as fast as they can tonight in desperation of loosing the ethiopian trials. I think we can see 10 runners go sub 13 tonight.
Pacers to go <61.5 per lap, 2:34 per km and 7:43 at 3k.
Pacing has been slowed down since last night:
now 62/lap, 2:35/km and 3:44 at 3k
7:44 at 3k of course

1) Henrik 12:56 (will shock world)
2) Gebrihwet 12:56.5
3) Jakob 12.57
4) Edris 12.57.5
5) McSweyn 12.58
6) Chepty 12.59
I'm going to guess those that just raced 48 hours ago will suck and it will come down to those who didn't. I guess they aren't like me, though.
Most-ever sub-12:50 finishers today.
Did they run a marathon two days ago?? Should be in great shape to run fast. It means they're sharpened for this.

Weird how none the coaches I know have ever used a 5000m/10000m race 48 hours before the goal race as a sharpening workout.

2. Cheptegei : 12:49:XX

1. Cheptegei
2. Jakob
3. Katir
4. Ahmed
5. McSweyn
6. Knight
7. Gebrhiwet
8. Edris
All between 12:53 and 13:02

I think Gebrihwet will edge out Cheptegei. And Jakob will edge out Ahmed.
Also, I think 250m out of the finish line, there will be a 5-6 secs margin between Gebrihwet/Cheptegei and Jakob/Ahmed, but Jakob with his 1500m speed will close the gap to only 2 secs by the end.
I am a bit confused about the time of the race. Is 4:23ET/1:23PST correct?

Do you know something about Gebrhiwet that we don't? He didn't look great in the Ethiopian 10K trial and is now here on minimal rest.
I will say I think those were great performances by Barega/Kejelcha and believe they are in ~12:45-50 form right now but Hagos was 8 seconds back and more worryingly is on 2 days rest.
