Does he have the record if we account for the 2-3 seconds that the new spikes make up? It's cool he was actually competing with pros in the field, but his record is meaningless because of the light years of speed technology the new spikes make.
Let it go "Dirty". Just. Let. It. Go. . Join the real world and accept that this is where we are and just move forward, please.
It is not all about the shoes. It IS all about Hobbs K.
For the record: He was wearing Dragonfly (Mango edition)
There is NO carbon plate in these shoes. They are NOT like the various Next% models with a carbon matrix plate and high stacked Zoom Foam midsole.
There is a thin layer of Zoom foam, but that in no F!@#$&*g way adds up to 2-3 seconds. Hold your breath and turn blue if you wish, but until any of you Luddites comes up with a reasonably accurate study proving these shoes provide some enormous advantage, then it is due time to accept the fact that most of 'aid' these provide may be between the runner's ears.
The advantage, if there is one, is in these are very light - but there are lots of 'light weight spikes available to all.
If is meaningless (to borrow you wording) to be on the wrong side of reality.
